What to do and where to go

Rovinj is one of the most picturesque towns in istria. The old town has many narrow streets filled with galleries and small independent shops. A lovely place to visit with the only Michelin starred restaurant in Croatia!

Inland Istria has many picturesque towns that one can indulge into for a day trip. Motovun host an internationally acclaimed film festival which transforms this otherwise sleepy town into a party town for the whole week in July/August. Nearby Groznjan host many jazz and music events.  Don't forget to visit Hum, Svetvincenat (near Villa 2M) ,Roc, Oprtalj.

Porec, also known as Parenzo Located on the west coast of Istria, with its 6th century Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Porec boasts a large marina and harbour, fishing trips, and excursions to nearby islands. Also many good restaurants, cafes, and assorted shops.

Porec is well worth a visit!

There are plenty of online travel guides offering advice about what to do and where to go! Below are a few links to the better ones ;-)

Michelin Guide

The Michelin guide is one of the most, if not, the most respected of all guides especially when it comes to food! In 2018 they produced a Green Travel Guide for Istria which included recommendations on things to do as what wine and olive oil to try as well their customary recommendations for restaurants. Unfortunately they no longer publish the guide but the details of it can be found here! ;-)

They still provide information about the region on their website but it's not as comprehensive as it was? Luckily though we have a few printed copies in the house for you to read ;-)

JRE

What is JRE?! For foodies in the know this organisation promotes young chefs under the age of 42 a.k.a. Jeunes Restauranteurs

And how do they do that? Not only do they review and promote chefs through their website but they also give those chefs the opportunity to sell things like the best exclusive wines in their restaurants!

In 2018 they published a "RESTAURANT GUIDE 2018/2019 CROATIA" which heavily featured many restaurants here in the region
